RB126, titled ‘The Art Of Sampling’, is the latest installment on Robsoul that delivers another healthy dose of raw underground genius released by Phil Weeks. Following on in a similar vein to the hugely popular ‘Creative Thinking’ release this vinyl double pack features seven heavyweight cuts with Phil at his best on his trusty MPC3000. The 2×12″ offering is peppered with warm and crunching TR909 drums, vintage samples all chopped, looped, filtered and sequenced to perfection.
As a main feature in Phil’s cult YouTube series “Underground Chronicles”, his trusty MPC and Roland TR909 feature heavily on this record and fans can gain an insight into one of the tracks from the record as Phil shows the creative process behind ‘Glory Glory’ using a Al Green sample to create the groove.

Hey you! Yeah you! Do you like big electronic mash ups and all things electro and funky techno with a bit of breaks thrown in for good measure? Then you must know Dylan Rhymes who is synonymous with the genre.
Hailing from London UK and affiliated with Lot 49 Recordings, Dylan is working on a stateside tour which should bring his brand of big electro-funky-techno-breaks to a city near you!
I know people in Alabama and the rest of the states are looking forward to having Dylan bring the bass and beats to their respective cities, so be on the lookout. For now, check out his Twitter feed, Liking his Facebook page, and listen to his Soundcloud page too.
Now bug on out!

The annual Sneak’s Birthday Beats event is back again for the 14th time, bringing yet another legendary line up to Toronto. The 2012 installment sees Josh Wink joining the party, while Sneak goes back to back with Doc Martin for a super-exclusive 4 deck 2 mixer set! Anyone who knows the long history these two have together are probably already getting excited, while younger House fans are in for a real treat as two of House music’s pioneers lay down something very special. Also on the line up is the much in-demand Nitin of No.19, alongside Nathan Barato, Mile Gleeson and Sleazebot.
This years Sneak’s Birthday Beats takes place on Saturday 3rd November at Toronto’s newest venue Moskito, boasting a capacity of 1000 split over two floors and a top of the range Alpha Dynacord sound system that has to be heard to be believed! Previous SBB events are legendary in their reputation, with Sneak always bringing incredible talent to the city. Since 1999 guests have included Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Francois K, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen and many others.
**My take on this party.**
Let me just say that DJ Sneak is one of my all time favorite house dj’s on the planet. The line up that he has for this upcoming party is epic in terms of the caliber of legendary dj talent that will be on hand for this throw down. Josh Wink, DJ Sneak B2B with Doc Martin. Are you kidding me?! By all means, if you can make it to Toronto, CA for this party… Do it! Oh how I wish I was going to this birthday party! Ken_UF
