Skrillex has dominated the Beatport charts as of late with his larger than life dubstep and drum & bass tracks. Soundstosample have dropped a little video showing just how to get that sound using Native Instruments Massive plugin. http://www.soundstosample.com/blog/how-to/massive-skrillex-basslines
Skrillex himself comments on the website on how everyone can get his sound now…

Computer Music 159, December Dubstep vs Drum & Bass!
Dec 30th

Computer Music 159, December issue – on sale now! | Computer Music Magazine | MusicRadar.com.
COVER FEATURE
Dubstep vs. Drum ‘n’ Bass
• Reso, Qemists, Icicle, High Rankin and Cutline reveal hard-edged production techniques in three hours of video footage and a huge article in the mag. Hang on to your ears as the UK’s two biggest, baddest electronic genres collide!
This has got to be one of the best Computer Music issues I’ve ever read. So much info from some of the top producers in the dubstep and drum and bass genre. The videos alone are worth the price on the tin! What High Rankin’ does to Native Instruments Massive is just down right disgusting! Reso gives you a deep step by step run down of his crazy War Machine tune. Plus Qemists and Icicle give you a schooling on proper drum & bass creation. If you have ever considered yourself a dubstep or drum and bass head and wanted to start creating distorted bass grooves, then don’t hesitate to purchase Issue 159 of Computer Music Magazine. It will get you well sorted! Now run along young dubsteppers and create proper damage on the dancefloors of the world!
(This was not a paid endorsement. I really enjoyed this issue very much!)
The iPhone App I’ve been waiting for is here!
Apr 15th

I love my iPhone, I really do, but when I first held her in my hand I knew it was missing a key element or “app” that would make this an absolute perfect device for me while on the go.
That key element is the new Beatport iPhone app which is available now.
Upon launching the app I noticed that the guy’s over at Beatport have made it almost identical in feel and flow to their website in regards to searching for that new jam or finding that old classic you heard just the other day. The fact that you can listen to the tracks before you add them to your cart is exactly what I wanted in an app and Beatport nailed it! The audio quality is good and you’re able to scrub through the track as you would on the standard site.
It’s very responsive too when surfing through different genres, charts, and featured music. If you’re not careful, you can spend a considerable amount of time and money while using the app; which is, am sure, why Beatport developed the app in the first place!
I’d like to suggest that the next update include the ability to share either via Twitter or Facebook a song and perhaps actually pay for the tracks within the app itself.
Currently, you can add tracks to your shopping cart, but when it comes time to pay and download your new jams, you’ll need to go to Beatport.com.
Overall, an outstanding app for every DJ and lover of dance music who are always on the go!
