Offical Press Release Info:
Artist: Phil Weeks
Title: Disco Inferno EP
Label: Clash Music
Release date: 26-03-12

2: Disco Inferno (Anhanguera 90′s School Remix)
3: Disco Inferno (VCO Rox Safadinhas Remix)
Brazilian label Clash Music’s latest release comes from the enigmatic and influencial house producer Phil Weeks with his ‘Disco Inferno’ EP. The original mix is a classic low slung, sleazy, jacking groove from Phil. Brazilian duo Anhanguera add sax stabs and a driving groove whilst fellow Sao Paulo producers VCO Rox drop a techier, fidgetty electro-tinged remix that has peak hour written all over it.
Parisian DJ/producer Phil Weeks is a house music purist who has delivered raw beats influenced by classic Chicago house and nu-school French flair for well over a decade. Production highlights include Phil’s three albums ‘Love Affair’ (2011), ‘Yeah I Like That’ (2003) and ‘Raw Instrumental’ (2012), alongside style-defining singles ‘Hypnose’, ‘It Put Me Well’ and ‘All Day Every Day’. The music has been heavily supported by international dance press including achieving accolades such as MixMag’s ‘Tune Of The Month’ and De-Bug’s ‘Album Of The Month’, while DJs ranging from Danny Howells and Yousef to Mark Farina and DJ Sneak consistently play his tracks. Phil’s long running Robsoul Recordings also defines him as one of the most skilled label heads in underground house music.
Anhanguera from Sao Paulo, Brazil are Dudu Palandre and Décio Deep – a duo at the forefront of a new generation of funky and jackin house producers. They have released several tracks through labels such as Robsoul, Minority, Shak Digital, Guesthouse and Good Family. Their music blends classic disco, jazz and hip hop samples with funky bass lines and fat beats – always sexy, groovy and driving.
VCO Rox complete the Sao Paulo focused line up. Paula Chalup and Eduardo Marote (aka Prztz and member of Jamanta Crew) have been honing their joint live show since 2010 which maintaining solo DJ careers in Brazil, Europe and America. Morate is well known as Prztz (and member of Jamanta Crew) who’s releases for labels such as Classic, Robsoul and .dotbleep were hugely popular in the mid 2000′s.
Clash Music has risen to fame through its eclectic and quality driven club nights in Brazil. The recently launched label’s releases bring together many of Clash Club’s international headliners such as Francois DuBois (Funk D’Void), Christian Smith and Anthony Rother, alongside some of the most skilled local artists including Junior C, Elemental X, Gui Boratto, Pe & Ban and Renato Cohen.

Wicked right? I’ll see all of Birmingham at BottleTree Friday night! Don’t sleep! Ken_UF
##UPDATE## I had a blast at BottleTree last Friday night when Mr. Invisible came to town and brought their brand of progressive old school style hip hop to the Magic City. The guy’s have a great style and got the crowd hype which you will see with the video below. The only thing I found odd was that they started their set with their newest track Wildstyle vs Kill The Messenger. Besides this I have nothing but praise for this show.
Their set comprised mostly of cuts off their “Sight Unseen” CD which I would recommend to any hip hop heads out their. Go get it! After the show I met the guy’s and told them somehow we need to have Mr. Invisible back to Birmingham for a longer performance. Doomtree which Mr. Invisible are on tour with a the moment commanded the night as the headliners and did a great show too. But I came to see Mr. Invisible and would have liked a longer show from them.
Now here comes the video I shot at the show. Good times, good times.
Final word on the night. BottleTree, thank you for bringing Mr. Invisible to town and also for having such a wonderful staff and great food. The Thai Spicy Burger was awesome and the Vegan Chili hit the spot! As for Mr. Invisible, if and when Mr. Invisible comes to your town, do yourself a favor and go see them live. You will have a blast! I did.
Oh and thanks Darrell for the last shot. Hit up Darrel on Twitter.
